How does it work?

If you created an iPhone App with Cashew, you can create an Android one just as easily.

Just download Cashew from the Android Market and it’s exactly the same process: Enter your ID / Password and live the Android experience with your own app (ie, for the Kawet app: Kawet/43e8)

Cashew’s platform generates native Android code in addition to the native iPhone code. You control everything from only one website!

Today Android confirms its progress with more than 350,000 activations per day in the world.

2. Technology
Android, as well as the iPhone, is just perfect for apps: screen size, browsing, UI/UX are almost the same.

3. Skill
Yoann Basset is a new associate of Kawet. He helped adapt Cashew to his favorite smartphone : Android.


What else?

The big bonuses for creating an Android app on Cashew are:
- No publication delay to see your app on the Android market
- No selection criteria
Within 48 hours after your payment, the app you built will be available on the Android Market.


What’s the result?

You can already download some applications made under Cashew: Kawet, StreetLove, BookLight or Le Camping, which are already available on the Android Market.

Time is come to make this blog more lively! From now on we’ll give more “light” news regularly.

Starting with the first and more important news: we’ve integrated a new startup accelerator called Le Camping within the walls of the famous Palais Brongniart in Paris. We’ve made a small fresh update on our Kawet website, and we had a day trip in London for Seedsummit.

It was a nice opportunity for us to confront our pitch to European investors, and… have a good time in a local pub with local drinks and… peanuts of course!

We are now proud to announce the official launch of Cashew, our native iPhone app creation platform!

This platform requires no technical knowledge at all, but hey, there is more:

- Everything is native, providing apps at the top of smoothness and reactivity you can expect on an iPhone. It’s not an HTML-based generator trying to reproduce the feeling of native apps.
– Cashew is a very modular platform: you can build your apps like a LEGO® game. No templates here: build your own structure, your own sections, your own design.. Your creativity is the only limit!
– Cashew is made up of a website, used to create and manage the design and content of the apps (even once your app is available on the App Store!), and a unique iPhone test platform from where you can test instantly your apps on your iPhone!


We do not ask you any upfront payment: once your are satisfied with your app, we submit it to the App Store.
In the meantime.. Everything is free! You can play with the platform, create as many apps as you want, and test it yourselves (or by anyone else who owns an iPhone) for 30 days!

Cashew supports many features: most of the RSS feed formats, Push notifications, slideshows, YouTube and Brightcove videos, custom geolocation…

Hey, you know what: this app is also available on the App Store. Same app, that you can view through our platform, or as a standalone app.

We are full of ideas for upcoming features, like custom augmented reality and 2D barcodes. Most of them will be free for everyone!
There are many possibilities hidden inside Cashew, and we are very excited to keep working on it, starting with specific adaptations for iPad, Android & Windows Phone 7.

Kawet sort de sa gousse !
Après des semaines de gestation, nous sommes enfin en mesure de vous expliquer sur quoi nous travaillons depuis le début de l’aventure.

Cashew

Depuis de nombreux mois nous avions en tête la création d’une solution permettant d’accélérer la création d’applications iPhone. Cette idée a murie, est devenue concrète, s’est vue rajouter de nombreuses fonctionnalités pour finalement arriver à un produit fonctionnel et utilisable par tout le monde.

Cette plateforme s’appelle Cashew. Elle permet la création d’applications natives iPhone sans aucune compétence technique et dans un temps record.
Nous vous fournissons un accès à une interface web, vous construisez votre application (structure, design, contenu : en bref, tout !), vous testez live votre application via l’application iPhone Cashew (qui peut être vue comme un containeur d’applications – disponible sur l’App Store ici) et.. voilà ! Nous pouvons ensuite “sortir” votre application de Cashew, et la mettre sur l’App Store directement.

En d’autres termes, Cashew veut démocratiser la création d’applications iPhone. Plus besoin de demander à un prestataire (ce qui a un coup financier, logistique et de temps non négligeable), Cashew propose de créer soi-même son application de qualité en quelques dizaines de minutes. Après, il nous est possible de rajouter n’importe quelle fonctionnalité spécifique : c’est selon votre imagination !

Calvi 2010

Nous sommes très heureux d’annoncer également notre premier partenariat !

L’agence de communication interactive Uzik s’est chargée de créer, via la plateforme Cashew, sa propre application iPhone pour le festival Calvi On The Rocks, qu’elle organise. Elle est disponible sur l’App Store ici.
Cette application a donc été crée en interne par l’agence, sans avoir besoin d’aucune compétence technique. Après quelques minutes pour prendre en main l’application, ils ont été capables de faire le design de l’application, créer sa structure et rajouter tout le contenu eux-même. Nous ne sommes absolument pas intervenus dans le process.
Vous verrez que le résultat est très probant. Un grand merci à eux pour avoir été des testeurs de Cashew de premier choix !

Nous allons progressivement lancer un accès à la beta privée de la plateforme. Si vous désirez vous créer un compte et découvrir les possibilités offertes par Cashew en avant-première, envoyez-nous un petit mot et nous vous donnerons un code d’invitation.
